L'aveva promesso già ad inizio anno, e ora ecco i frutti della promessa. Lo scorso 1° gennaio Cliff Richard aveva detto che il suo prossimo album sarebbe scaturito da una illuminazione di David Gest, che fu amico di Michael Jackson. Il Sempreverde, autore di ben 137 singoli dei quali 69 hanno raggiunto la Top 10 e 14 arrivati fino al numero 1 in Gran Bretagna, riparte dall'idea di Gest: leggermente mutato il titolo dell'album, che passa da "Cliff Richard sings soul" a "Soulicious", per il resto confermata la direzione. "Soulicious" sarà pubblicato il prossimo 16 ottobre, è composto da duetti e contiene questi brani:

Alcuni degli artisti che hanno duettato con il "Peter Pan del pop" andranno poi in tour con lui. Lamont Dozier, Freda Payne, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr., Percy Sledge, James Ingram e Jaki Graham saranno on the road con quello che una volta veniva definito "la risposta inglese ad Elvis Presley" per un tour che per ora si limita alla Gran Bretagna e presenta queste date:
