Mentre Tony Bennett si appresta a pubblicare "Duets II", è stato annunciato anche l'arrivo di un cofanetto che può ben essere definito "enorme". E anche definitivo, considerata l'età anagrafica dell'artista. Il box-set, disponibile dal prossimo 8 novembre, contiene tutte le registrazioni del cantante dal 1946 ad oggi: il tutto si traduce in un cofanetto, intitolato "Tony Bennett - The complete collection", comprendente ben 73 CD e 3 DVD. Le canzoni sono per buona parte quelle da lui registrate per la Columbia Records, etichetta con la quale Tony è accasato dal 1952, dieci anni prima del debutto discografico dei Beatles, ma vi sono anche pezzi incisi per Roulette, MGM, Fantasy ed Improv. Dei tre DVD quello che offre il maggior numero di rarità è "Tony Bennett sings...with the London Philharmonic"; il disc propone materiale del 1971 registrato per uno show alla BBC. "Duets II", in uscita il prossimo 20 settembre, è il sequel di "Duets: an American classic". Il disco di duetti contiene queste canzoni:

Tony Bennett è in pratica l'ultimo dei grandi crooner statunitensi degli anni Cinquanta dopo la scomparsa di Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin e Bing Crosby. L'artista (3 agosto 1926) crebbe nella zona del Queens di New York City col suo vero nome di Anthony Dominick Benedetto, combatté in Europa nel 1944 con l'esercito statunitense ed ebbe il suo primo successo, con "Because of you", nel settembre 1951.
